The Homegrown Show is running a "Landscape Makeover" contest and one lucky school will be the winner of this package worth $20,000!
This contest is the brainchild of Sid Grant of Grant Garden Group in Gainesville.
Contest Deadline – Dec 6, 2008.
RULES: Schools are to submit 2-3 photos of an area at their school that needs a make over and a brief essay as to why their school should be chosen to receive the makeover.
Winner will receive a pondless waterfall feature and surrounding landscaping which has a value of approx $20,000. The make-over will be an "educational garden" that will represent a mini ecosytem, i.e. water supply for wildlife, wildlife friendly plants that are a source of food and shelter, low maintenance plants that require very little water, pesticides, or fertilizer.

Labor and materials for the water feature will be donated by Grant Garden Group of Gainesville and the plant material will be donated by Full Bloom Nursery. (Yes, the retail value of this makeover is approx $20,000 worth of materials and labor) The water feature has no pond or standing water, is totally self contained, and requires very little upkeep |
