Join us for the 22nd Annual Mutt Strut!
The Humane Society of Northeast Georgia (HSNEGA) has announced that the 22nd annual Mutt Strut 5K & 1 Mile Family Fun Walk will be held Saturday, June 22, 2013. The annual event is a fundraising events for the HSNEGA with all proceeds benefit the shelter's rescue and adoption programs as well as its efforts to reduce pet overpopulation and suffering.
For 2013, the 5K will take place at Lakeview Academy, located at 796 Lakeview Drive in Gainesville, Ga. The event also includes a 1 Mile Family Fun Walk, where participants can bring their dogs to walk with them as long as they are vaccinated, leashed, non-aggressive, and in good physical condition.
Registration for 5K & Walk starts at 7 a.m. and the 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk starts at 8:15 a.m with the 5K starting at 8:45 a.m. Registration is $25 per person until June 14, 2013; Day of Race registration is $30 per person. Team registration is available for $20 per person. Teams must be a minimum of 4 people. Team option available during pre-registration only.

On Saturday, June 29th 10:00 am - 12:00 pm the Atlanta Braves Rookie sensation, Evan Gattis will be at Carriage Kia for an autograph signing! This will be his first Metro Atlanta public appearance, and we expect a large turnout!
Evan Gattis has burst onto the scene withe the Braves and made a huge impact! He's making waves that he hopes to ride into the All-Star Game and the Home Run Derby!
Don't miss your chance to get an autograph from Gattis himself. Again, the turnout is expected to be rather large! Gildan, official sponsor of Triple-A Baseball and maker of high-quality activewear, underwear and socks, has teamed up with the Gwinnett Braves and WDUN to auction off local bachelors for charity. But we need your help to find the hottest bachelors around. Visit The Bill and Joel Morning Show Facebook page to nominate a bachelor and choose a charity to benefit. Don’t know any eligible bachelors? – that’s okay. We still need you to go online and vote for the bachelors you like best. Then on Thursday, July 18th, Rebecca Cameron will help auction off the top bachelors at Coolray Field before the game. All proceeds go to the charity each bachelor represents. So, really, it’s not about a getting a date. It’s about raising money for the worthy local causes of your choice … and earning yourself a great evening with an eligible gentleman at the same time.

The Arts Council Presents The Northwinds Symphonic Band in a Patriotic Pops Concert

This concert is an inspiring musical tribute to our great nation, honoring her heritage of freedom and the men and women who serve in the Armed Forces. Program highlights include America, the Beautiful, The Chimes of Liberty, American Salute, the Star Spangled Banner… and other patriotic favorites from some of America’s best known composers. And of course, there will be some Sousa marches. Led by Conductor Ron Evans, The Northwinds Symphonic Band will perform a rousing patriotic celebration of all that makes our nation great, which never fails to bring the audience to its feet.
This is a purely patriotic show, so go ahead and proudly display your red, white and blue. Grab your patriotic decorations, lawn chairs and blankets or reserve a table up front. A BBQ dinner is available for purchase or feel free to bring your own picnic. Your favorite beverages are welcomed. This concert takes place on Wednesday, July 3rd. Our gates will open at 6:00PM and the concert will start at 8:00PM.

The Art Council presents Movies on the Green: The Croods!
Join us for a night of family fun as The Arts Council presents Dreamworks Animation's "The Croods," on a 35 foot inflatable screen on the beautiful Smithgall Arts Center Lawn. The movie is on Thursday, July 25th. Gates open at 7:30 PM for pre-movie family activities on the lawn. Feel free to bring along picnics, beverages of choice, blankets and lawn chairs. Food and soft drinks will be available on-site for purchase. Art activities will be offered before the film.

Kickin' Cancer 5k!

We WILL run....Cancer Can't Hide! Come join us for the Kickin’ Cancer 5K and 1K Tot Trot. The run/walk will help raise money for the family of Will Wagner. The 5K start/finish will take place at Winder-Barrow High School at 272 North 5th Avenue, Winder, GA 30680. Come join the fun and raise money for WILL! Packet pickup and race day registration will begin at 6:30AM. Registration will close Wednesday July 31st at 12 a.m. The Race will start on Saturday, August 3rd. The Arts Council presents Summer MusicFest: Back In Time!

Come out and hear that old time rock and roll as the Back in Time band returns for one of Gainesville's favorite outdoor summer concerts. Hailing from North Georgia, Back in Time brings back musical memories from the 60s, 70s and 80s with hits like , “My Girl” by The Temptations, “It’s Not Unusual” by Tom Jones, “Desperado” by The Eagles, and of course the band's namesake "Back in Time," by Hewy Lewis and the News. Get ready to shag the night away with your favorite partner when Back in Time performs some of the most memorable beach music classics.
Grab your lawn chairs and blankets or reserve a table up front. Dinner is available for purchase or feel free to bring your own picnic. Your favorite beverages are welcomed. This concert takes place on Saturday, August 10th. Our gates will open at 6:00PM and the concert will start at 8:00PM.
