Jacobs Media's late Chairman John W. Jacobs founded the company in 1949, acquiring AM 550 and FM 102.9 WDUN, 1240 ESPN Radio, North Georgia's very first FM station, first cable TV Channel, and steered WDUN to become the first North Georgia station committed to what is today's NewsTalk radio format. Generations of Georgians have grown up getting news, information and entertainment first from the Jacobs Media family of radio stations. Mr. Jacobs' son John W. Jacobs, III, company President and CEO, brought WDUN into the next phase of compelling radio and new media, adding North Georgia's first internet news service - AccessNorthGa.com in 1999. Today Access is the most-read news website in North Georgia combining breaking news, streaming WDUN radio, WDUN TV newscasts online, on demand video events and the exciting new free AccessWDUN app for drois and iPhone smartphones. At Jacobs Media future horizons are always being planned for.
